Cheryl Cole at Odyssey Arena Review

Cheryl cole live

Diving straight into her debut solo tour, Cheryl Cole swan-dived on to the stage at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena to her track, Sexy Den a Mutha, in gold sequinned, dangerously low-cut jumpsuit. Sadly, someone who agrees she is “sexy den” had to sit out last night’s gig.

Boyfriend Tre Holloway injured his knee in rehearsals just hours before stage time and had to drop out of the show on doctor’s orders. He had been due to perform intimate routines with the star, so his absence left production with a desperate last minute reshuffle of the stage layout.

Poor Chez.

But Tre watched on from the side of stage as she performed hits Call My Name, Girl in the Mirror - complete with actual mirrors - and Promise This. It’s lucky Cheryl, 29, is travelling round the UK in a tour bus (she’s shunning hotels on several of the stop offs) as with four different costumes, she’ll need to keep an eye on all her clothes - all custom made by Renelou Padora.

She said: “Thank you so much for coming to the first night - let’s get this party started.”

The “second act” kicked off with a medley of Girls Aloud’s greatest hits, including The Promise, Biology and Love Machine - good practice for their reunion next month.

After a DJ set interlude, Chez bounded back on stage to Ghetto Baby and gave an energetic performance to Fight For This Love.

And still looked Sexy Den A Mutha.
