Azealia Banks is a force of nature. Even if she is no nearer to releasing an album or any music for that matter, Azealia Banks can be found mainly ditching record labels or starting fights with other celebrities on the various social media networks. She is extremely good at causing mischief, it is her speciality. Only last week she was speaking out about calling it quits to rapping after labelling it “kind of tacky” and “unladylike”, she has come out saying this a few times over the years - this coming from an artist who is basically a rapper who sings occasionally. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Track of the Day - Azealia Banks ‘Heavy Metal and Reflective’
One thing to remember is that for all her silly behaviour, Azealia Banks is still only 21 years old. She has achieved a lot in her short time in the limelight, however, we must say we expected a whole lot more.

This is why we were excited to hear that Azealia had a brand new track for her armies of fans a few days back. ‘Heavy Metal and Reflective’ is the new single and yesterday Ms Banks revealed the official video.

Set in a Breaking Bad-esque New Mexico desert, Azealia Banks goes from kidnap victim, to quad bike rider, to dog handler, to all-out performing badass. She even speaks Japanese. The track is no ’212’ but it certainly treads a similar path, namely, a long-list of boastful lyrics and an utterly excellent beat, synth and baseline. Typical really…

Does this mark a step in the right direction for the eagerly anticipated debut album? We like to think so, however, as always with Azealia Banks who knows?
