THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13

We all know that album sales is not where it's at for stacking the BIG stacks in 2012. The real earners are the arena / stadium / world tours. Annually we see droves of musical superstars wave goodbye to their loved ones and embark on six-sometimes-seven-sometimes-twelve month long tours. They traverse the globe, entertain thousands of fans and at the end come home LOADED. Two good examples of late are The Stone Roses. The Stone Roses bankroll after their comeback gigs last summer was off the riktor scale and those guys only played two headline shows to their UK fans.

Not that the World tourers don't earn their crust. It is no easy feat wowing crowds across the globe. Headline acts definitely have their work cut out and if you throw homesickness, burn out, exhaustion and day-after-day flying up and down motorways on a tour bus it is not always as glamorous as it seems.

Nevertheless, the show must go on and there are some absolute barnstormers on the horizon which we feel cannot be ignored. Here are our top five SUPER-SIZED-STADIUM-TOURS that you guys should definitely see in the near future...

THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13
THE KILLERS - Vegas natives The Killers return to the UK with a bang on a number of occasions in between now and the middle of 2013. They play the first of two shows at London's O2 TONIGHT, and then return in February 2013 to showcase their skills in Manchester. Finally, and most spectacularly, they return for one final UBER SHOW when they play Wembley Stadium on June 22 2013. Make no mistake, that will be the show to be at...

THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13
GIRLS ALOUD - Ten years in the game is no mean feat, especially if you are a manufactured pop outfit. Who can say whether you will get on with your band mates in the first week, let alone the tenth year? The Girls Aloud girls have been through it all; break ups and riffs, arguments and beefs, however, they have done so amidst a long list of number 1 albums and singles and sell-out tours. The importance of their upcoming tour is that it celebrates the aforementioned ten year milestone. Well done girls!

THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13
MUMFORD AND SONS - It is always nice to see a band from the UK return to play a comprehensive tour even though they are enjoying MONUMENTAL success in the U S of A. Mumford And Sons return to their homeland late 2012 to play 13 live dates up and down the UK. We like to think of it as the band paying back the fans that have backed them from the very beginning. It is likely that there will be WAY more than just the first generation of Mumford And Sons in attendance at these shows…

THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13
KINGS OF LEON - World beating rockers Kings Of Leon have not graced UK shores since their triumphant headline show at Hyde Park in the summer of 2010. That show was a spectacle; a gig that ranked up there with the finest Hyde park has ever seen. With talk of a new album in the pipeline we predict a stage show of serious merit from Tennessee's finest when they return to play six epic shows on our shores in 2013.

THE TOP 5 ARENA TOURS 2012/13
RIHANNA - Ri Ri is currently embarking on her '777' (7 gigs in 7 countries in 7 days) tour, but as soon as the dust has settled on that particular adventure she will have to turn her attentions to her brand new 'Diamonds' stage show which is set to take over the planet in mid-2013, including four UK dates.
