Rufus Wainwright to release 5th album
Maverick songwriting talent Rufus Wainwright is preparing to release his new album 'All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu' on April 5th. Rufus Wainwright comes from a family with no small amount of musical pedigree. Father Loudon is a cult figure in his own right, while Wainwright's mother Kate McCarrigle is rather less well known. An important musician in the 60s folk revival, Kate McCarrigle was one of Bob Dylan's favourite performers. Sadly, the Canadian singer died earlier this year prompting an emotional tribute from her son. Rufus Wainwright took time off to grieve, but has now confirmed details of his fifth solo album. A typically lavish affair forthcoming record 'All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu' is due to be released on April 5th. Following on from his French language opera last year, the new album contains some intriguing song titles. Rufus Wainwright has released the entire tracklisting for the record, with tracks such as 'Who Are You New York?'. One song 'Martha' appears to hint at his family, while a series of tracks named after sonnets could reference Shakespeare. Including 'Les Feux D’artifice T’appellent' is seems that Wainwright has not left his French speaking days behind. Revealing details of the album, Rufus Wainwright also announced a full scale UK tour. Beginning on April 13th with a no doubt lavish London show, the jaunt will take in venues across the country. Rufus Wainwright is set to release 'All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu' on April 5th. Tracklisting is as follows: 'Who Are You New York?' 'Sad With What I Have' 'Martha' 'Give Me What I Want and Give It To Me Now!' 'True Loves' 'Sonnet 43' 'Sonnet 20' 'Sonnet 10' 'The Dream' 'What Would I Ever Do With A Rose?' 'Les Feux D’artifice T’appellent' 'Zebulon'
