Having divided the best part of last year between touring the globe with teen sensation Lorde and working on new music, LMFM favourites Majical Cloudz are gearing up for a return with their eagerly anticipated sophomore studio album Are You Alone?

And now, the Canadian duo have unveiled the official video for lead single ‘Silver Car Crash’, be sure to watch above to see what all the fuss is about.

Magical Cloudz reveal official video for brand new single - watch
Filmed and edited by frontman Devon Welsh and Neil Corcoran, the director of recent Majical Cloudz documentary ‘Too Many Humans’, the black & white video follows band members Welsh and Matthew Otto on the outskirts of a highway to stark and unmediated effect.

Speaking about the video, Devon said:

“We shot this video in Montreal with Neil Corcoran We used his camera as well as my friend Kyle's camera. It's very home-made, shot quickly.
I mainly believe in videos as an expression of the artist(s) themselves, and this is the video I wanted to make. It's not flashy or spectacular, but I think it does the mood of the band justice, which is most important to me. In any case, I made it myself so that it feels good to put it out.”

Recorded between Montreal and Detroit, Are You Alone? is all set to showcase the expansion of Majical Cloudz sonic and narrative scope in adventurous new directions, while at the same time retaining the unmistakable building blocks that have singled out their music making as totally unique up to this point.

We literally cannot wait for this record. Additionally, ‘Are You Alone?’ drops on our birthday which makes us even more excited.

Are You Alone?, is scheduled for release on October 16th on Matador Records.
