Katy Perry has finally signed her divorce papers from her now ex-husband Russell Brand. What's more, she did so with a smiley face!
The paperwork was signed on Tuesday after the pair agreed on all financial issues surrounding the split. Both parties signed the judgement along with Superior Court Judge Marc Marmaro - with Katy signing a smiley face next to her signature.
The official document states that: 'The parties have entered into a comprehensive written settlement of all issues, including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party.'
Whether or not Katy is just putting on a brave face remains to be seen, but she at least appears to be happy to have finally rid herself of the long-haired-Lothario. Although the divorce will not be officially finalised until June due to the 6 month waiting period as dictated by California law.
As the pair didn't sign a pre nuptial agreement (unbelievable, right?!) Russell is entitled to approximately $20 million of Katy's fortune. However, it was reported yesterday that he has no such plans to claim any of the American singer's fortune, what a really nice guy.
Even though the ink is still wet on the divorce papers it hasn't deterred a new man from courting Katy - non other than the godfather of manufactured pop, Simon Cowell. The X-Factor creator is lining Katy up as a judge on the next series of the US show after axing former members of the panel Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.
