Brand filed for divorce proceedings last week from the pop singer, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce. That, and the fact that his sex addiction was probably becoming an issue too.
Reports have also suggested that Perry asked Brand to file for divorce on her behalf, fearing the wrath of her deeply religious parents. Whatever the back story is with the divorce, it appears the situation has become perfect fodder for a brand new Adele, sorry, we mean Katy Perry record.
Livemusic predicts 12 ballads and one Rolling In The Deep rip off, where Katy tells a tale of Russell Brand choosing a West Ham FA Cup home tie and a bed of blonde groupies over her.
Poor old Katy.
