All it takes is the tiniest thing to send the Internet into a spiralling frenzy of posts, tweets, articles and hashtags. The last instance that caused HUGE waves was just last week, when David Bowie mentioned something about a new album in a message to his label boss which got interpreted as 'DEFINITE NEW BOWIE ALBUM TO DROP THIS YEAR' by the music press. A new album is almost certainly out of the question but such is the power of certain artists and subsequent analysis of their every move, well, an Internet meltdown here and there is to be expected.

Is Adele set to make her return?
Now while it is fair to assume that a huge proportion of music lovers would LOVE a new Bowie record, it is also fair to assume that an even bigger proportion of music fans would love a new Adele album. Worldwide fame brings with it many things; it brings riches and accolades, trophies and trinkets at the same time as suffocating attention and press attention. Adele has received all of these things in equal measure ever since her sophomore album '21' EXPLODED on the scene.

Adele went underground after that release; she pretty much disappeared after cementing her name at the very pinnacle of ballad making. Aside from picking up an Academy award for her James Bond theme song and a couple of other minor musical instalments it is fair to say that she has been thoroughly off the grid. Until now it seems…

Adele took to here Twitter account last night. She posted a selfie which included the caption…

"Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year x"

Now while this may seem like a pretty straight forward message, there are cryptic undertows that the swirling World Wide Interwebs were quick to pick up on. On paper, Adele is now 26, so is innocently bidding farewell to her 25th year, however, if you read into the 'See you again later in the year' part then it becomes ABUNDANTLY clear that Adele is going to release her third album in 2014. more, it will be called '25' in tow with her previous outings '19' and '21' and will be her biggest release to date.

Hugely speculative or concrete fact? A healthy mix of the two we would argue.
