GWAR GUITARIST CORY SMOOT FOUND DEAD

Gwar guitarist Cory Smoot, the longest serving member to play the role of Flattus Maximus in the satirical thrash metal troupe, has been found dead.

The band discovered Smoot deceased on their tour bus whilst preparing to make the border crossing into Canada. Frontman Dave Brockie, aka Oderus Urungus, released this statement:

"It is with a sense of profound loss and tragedy that the members of Gwar must announce the passing of their longtime guitarist and beloved friend Cory Smoot, also known to thousands of metal fans worldwide as Flattus Maximus. Cory was found deceased this morning as the band prepared for a border crossing."

He added: “At this point we are just dealing with the loss of our dear friend and brother, one of the most talented guitar players in metal today.”

For those unfamiliar with Gwar, they consist of interplanetary warriors set on the sexual enslavement and genocide of mankind. They are descended from aliens created from the lowest filth and excreta in the universe and have been evolving in recondite pockets of Antarctica.

We'll keep you posted on the future of their tour - R.I.P. Cory Smoot - Listen below for their seminal tune 'Fucking An Animal'.
