This is a big deal!! Seattle rock legends Foo Fighters spilled the beans last night that they are set to be named the first 2015 headline act at the World famous Glastonbury music festival.

The band couldn’t make the NME awards ceremony at Brixton Academy to pick up their gong for ‘Best International Band’ and instead recorded a VT thanking Chrissie Hynde (who presented the award) and their fans (of course) before revealing that they would be in the UK over the Summer to take to the iconic Pyramid Stage to headline the Friday night of the Eavis Family’s Worthy Farm spectacular.

Foo Fighters confirm themselves as first Glastonbury headliners
Dave Growl beamed…

"This is amazing, we love you very much, but we also love all of the fans for voting for our band for this award. We're very thankful and very happy - sorry we couldn't make it tonight, but we will be seeing you over the summer at some big outdoor festival that nobody knows we're playing. It's Glastonbury! So we'll see you at Glastonbury. Thanks a lot everybody!"

So there you have it! The die is cast. Foo Fighters join 80’s pop crooner Lionel Richie as the second (yes that’s right, only the second) confirmed act for this years festival. You can be sure that a full line-up will soon fly out of the traps but it was never really that important who was playing as the tickets always sell out in 14 seconds anyway!!
