Fresh from the release of their thoroughly epic new LP ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ Florence + the Machine have announced plans for an epic tour of UK and Ireland including a four date ‘residency’ at Alexandra Palace in London at the end of September. It seems to be the ‘in’ thing to do nowadays and certainly shows just how big a band has become when they book out the same venue for four nights on the bounce...

Then again, that's what a number one album deserves. Make no mistake, ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ is a monumental record. Riddled with powerful and revealing levels of emotion, the LP could well be the release that Florence Welch is remembered for. It certainly represents her most impressive work thusfar. Speaking on the underbelly of the LP and the difficult chapter in her life that inspired the release, Welch explained…
 
"There’s a real down … with everything there has to be an opposite. I can go way up there, but I get really sad. I have a thaerapist, she’s known me for years. She helped my little sister as well. She’s so rational, it’s good for me, because I see everything in extremes. She’s like, ‘Maybe it’s about coming to a more moderate place?’”
