It gives us great pleasure to report that Ed Sheeran's return to the UK is nearing ever closer. Having been soaring through his North American tour to rave reviews (and picking up the odd VMA here and there along the way), it is fair to say that everything is in place for not just a return to home soil, but a triumphant one.

Ed Sheeran returns to UK soil next week at iTunes Festival...
With a sophomore album of real quality under his belt and a global fan base that grows by the day, there simply had to come a day that Ed returned home to pay homage to the fans that made him who he is today. Next week marks the occasion when Sheeran returns to headline the penultimate night of live happenings at Camden's Roundhouse as part of the iTunes Festival. Only gazumpted by the legendary Plácido Domingo who is scheduled to bring the thirty night, month long festival to a close, it is fair to say that most of the talk is about Sheeran's return...

Why? Well, iTunes Festival is all about showcasing a diverse roster of musical making talent; from the brave to the timid, from the electronic to the acoustic, it is famed for offering up something for everyone, it's just, having read reports of Sheeran's latest shows in the states, ticket holders for his homecoming are set for an especially special treat.

Here at Livemusic we champion inventive and extraordinary ways of showcasing music live. We are not just a clever name you know. We are huge fans of true musical craft, but certainly prefer the kind of artist who oozes 'natural' talent. You cannot buy natural talent, nor can you teach it. It's something that you either have -or- you don't and Ed Sheeran is up there with the most naturally talented artists currently operating on planet pop.

Rather than go down the big band route, Sheeran has been performing 2+ hour shows across the USA alone, just himself and a few pieces of rudimentary electronic kit (a loopstation etc) to ensure that his new album is revealed in his customary stripped back, acoustic form. This is no mean feat, especially in arena settings trust us. Hiding in-and-amongst a big band sound is a far safer place to be than on stage alone and we are truly excited to see Sheeran showcase his new stage show to his adoring UK fans. Not just at his homecoming performance at the iTunes Festival, but moreover, during his fully fledged UK Arena tour which kicks off in Dublin on October 03.
