About "Spider" John Koerner
John Koerner is American, born in Rochester, N.Y., Aug. 31, 1938. He has been performing
American traditional blues and folk music since the late 1950s.
In the 1960s, he performed with Koerner, (Dave) Ray and (Tony) Glover and covered early black blues artists with guitar, strong vocals and a thumping heel on the floor.
His music spans jug band, psychedelic R&B, Hoagy Carmichael, Louisiana sounds, according to his Web site.
He lives in Minneapolis and still tours. Recent albums have explored such traditional American songs as Froggie went a courtin'.
He has performed with the likes of Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, and more.
