Sky Ferreira

About Sky Ferreira

Ferreira is of Native American, Portuguese, and Brazilian descent. She got her start in Los Angeles. She sang gospel songs in church throughout her childhood. Ferreira grew up around family friend Michael Jackson, stating in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat: "We just became friends with him. When I was born, I was raised around him, I always saw him. I had holidays with him and stuff like that." At age thirteen, she started taking opera lessons to refine her singing voice. She spent the next few years maintaining a Myspace profile where she uploaded various demos of self-written tracks. Shortly before her fifteenth birthday, she caught the attention of Swedish production duo Bloodshy & Avant by contacting them through the social networking site. The producers were impressed and subsequently decided to work with her.

Ferreira is musically influenced by former Spice Girls member Emma Bunton, Michael Jackson, Prince, Blondie, Elton John, David Bowie, Serge Gainsbourg, Meja, Lil' Kim,Madonna, Alice Cooper, Nancy Sinatra, and The Runaways.
LMFM Says:
It is more Sky Ferreira's powermoves in the modelling and acting game that bought her to the attention of industry bigwigs in the world of music only a couple of years back. She ticks all the boxes necessary to smash it as a worldwide pop superstar; youthful exhuberance, insatiably good looks, and an ear for an eclectic pop sound that is quickly defining its very own place in the world of music. Think teenage Blondie and you will be on the right lanes.

Sky Ferreira's debut album 'I'm Mot Alright' drops in January 2013. Cue utter madness from that very moment onward, we are sure of it.
