About Bat for Lashes
Bat for Lashes is the work of British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & visual artist Natasha Khan. Natasha Khan was born in Hertfordshire, England on 25 October 1979 and currently resides in Brighton, England, United Kingdom. Khan graduated in music and visual arts; while at university her experimental work was influenced by artists such as Steve Reich and Susan Hiller, and she produced multi-media work centred on sound installations, animations and performance.

Natasha Khan is a supernovae amongst the dark vacuum of pop space. Recently a flooding of songs about kitchen sinks and pritt stick have risked leaving music like modern architecture - too functional and concerned with fulfilling the whims of the fickle. Kahn supplements these inclinations with great decorative visions on the fantastical - Her music is adorned with exotic pagan panoramas flooded with mystical horses that ride the wakes of exploding stars. Bat For Lashes captures the imagination and we think it's wonderful.
